Quikscribe now has the ability to integrate barcode scanning during the digital dictation process.  By pressing a button on the Philips SpeechMike (with Barcode Scanner), a patient or case number is scanned and inserted as a field within the Intelligent Audio File.

This streamlines the recording process to the simple steps of
- Scan
- Record
- Send. 

Scanning the identification number creates a new dictation file, the recording process begins, then pressing another button sends the file to transcription.

During transcription, the scanned identification number is displayed (with other pertinent fields) to allow selection of the desired file to open.
